On Friday, December 4, 2015, WDBJ-7 featured the Appalachian Regional Exposition Center on the evening newscast, highlighting Wythe County’s recent purchase of +90 acres of land near I-81 Exit 77, as well as a $750,000 award from the Tobacco Commission to assist in the constructing the facility.
Wythe County Extension Agent Matthew Miller called the planned exposition center “an economic incubator” for the I-81 corridor.
